Love them or loathe them, trends are big business in interior design and the high street is awash with new season pieces to inspire you in 2017. Here we highlight our top five trends that will give your home a whole new look for the New Year.

After the huge success of grey as the colour of 2016, interior bloggers are heralding denim blue as the new hue for 2017. Painting one wall in your home gives a welcome splash of colour to walls that have seemed a little monotone in recent months, and accessorising with an array of gorgeous gilded mirrors brings a touch of glamour.

Cork it

Yes, you heard it here first, cork is making a comeback. The seventies styling is showing up everywhere and is an incredibly easy and versatile way to update your home décor. From cork coasters to corkboard walls, you can put this material almost anywhere, but our favourite way to dabble in this daring new trend is with a cute cork frame mirror, this is something you can make yourself with a mirror made to your specification, and some cork.

Beautiful butterflies

From cushions to quilts and everything in between, butterflies are appearing everywhere in home décor, and this trend looks set to be one of the hottest for 2017. Before you commit to a bold butterfly wallpaper print, why not experiment with this trend by hanging a stunning butterfly mirror to bring the outdoors indoors.

Sunburst Statementbed

The sunburst mirror is one piece that makes comeback after comeback. Dating back to the 19th Century, this traditional mirror received a modern make over in the sixties and continues to be reworked to meet the new interior design trends. Traditionally gold, these frames are now available in all materials from chrome to copper. We just love this modern take on the sunburst mirror that would be a perfect style statement in any room.

Terrific textures

Textures are big news for 2017, from cosy knits to crushed velvet, rustic rattan to raw ceramics. Whether your interiors are monochrome or multi-coloured, textures add depth and character, and surprisingly mirrors are getting in on the act this year. Textured mirrors make the perfect feature wall in kitchens and bathrooms so make this top trend work for you with easy to install self-adhesive tiles.
