How To Find An Agent
At last, the question of how to find an agent has been answered.
February 12th
Very interesting discussion today on book publishing. This is what I was hoping to get out of the Novel Approach course. How do you find an agent – and indeed do you need one? What do you need in order to submit a book for consideration, either by an agent or a publisher; a synopsis; a couple of chapters or a finished book? Are editors still willing to advise potential authors on writing skills?
We also discussed finding how to structure a book properly. Having an idea, a plot, a sub-plot and characters isn’t enough. How do you present them? We discussed how the best novels are structured. A very positive and worthwhile session. We are half-way through the course, and amazingly, it would seem with only half the original group of students.
Why would students want to play ‘hooky’ from a class they’ve actually paid to attend?
