Boost Your Circulation

Brush, loofah, soap and towels.

Beauty tricks to revive your body and brighten your face.

The demands of daily life can make routines slip after the New Year, but these easy simple steps can get even the time deprived back on track. It's not just about exercise and healthy eating - a few beauty tricks can also make big improvements to your circulation and vitality.

My number one tip for boosting circulation and removing impurities from under the skin's surface has to be body brushing, recommended morning and evening before your bath or shower.

Always start on the soles of the feet and gently brush in smooth upward strokes towards the heart. This will help stimulate lymph and blood circulation and encourage deposits of cellulite to disperse - always a good thing to do before the bikini has to come out! There are lots of different body brushes on the market, but I find the Elemis Skin Brush to be the most effective. It costs just £16 and is a bathroom must have for everyone. For those who prefer to brush while showering, Champneys Ergonomic Bath Brush is ideal.

That's the body dealt with, now don't forget the face. A good circulation is one of the key factors to maintaining a youthful looking skin. A healthy heart will pump the blood around the body and a good circulation will keep skin cells healthy and radiant.

A peel or scrub such as Champneys Fresh Face Micro Dermabrasion refines the skin's appearance further by deeply polishing the surface and removing dull dead skin cells.

Always finish the face and body by massaging in a good moisturiser - massage with slow firm movements working from the foot up again towards the heart as you did with your body brushing, finishing on your temples with gentle pressure works wonders!
