This Month's Pets Who Need Homes

SmudgeSmudge
Tabby & white cat
Age: 6
Gender: Male

Smudge needs a new home. This timid feline is currently in the care of Cats Protection where he is waiting for a patient and caring owner who will give him all the love and attention he deserves.

Location: North Hertfordshire
Contact: If you would like to give Smudge a new home, please contact Cats Protection’s North Hertfordshire Branch on 01438 228 877.

LucyLucy
Small black Patterdale cross
Age: 4 years & 7 months
Gender: Female

Lucy came into the Blue Cross centre as she was showing signs of jealousy in the home. Lucy is a very affectionate young lady who loves nothing more than to have a good fuss and a cuddle, she also loves to play with her squeaky toys.

Lucy has a deformity in her back legs which does not cause her any problems at present. She is not currently on medication for this but may require some in the future. Therefore the Blue Cross can offer a foster scheme where the cost for any medical treatments that relate to this ailment would be payed for.

The charity are looking to home Lucy as an only pet as they think this would benefit her as she likes all the attention for herself. She is also unable to live with children under the age of 10 years. She would need to be the only pet, needs a secure garden with 4-5ft fencing, and can be left for up to 4 hours.

Location: Burford
Contact: For more information about the homeless pets at Blue Cross animal adoption centres visit www.bluecross.org.uk.

BrunoBruno
Black cat
Age: 3
Gender: Male

Bruno is a happy cat who needs a home of his own. He has a lovely nature and gets on well with other cats and would be best suited to a home with a garden where he can play and explore.

Location: North Ayrshire
Contact: If you feel you could offer Bruno the home he has been waiting for, please contact Cats Protection’s North Ayrshire Branch on 07050 100 072.

CallyCally
Rottweiler
Age: 2 years & 6 months
Gender: Female

Cally is a lovely Rottie, who enjoys being around people. She came into the Blue Cross centre as her owners were leaving her for long periods of time and felt this was unfair.

She loves to play with all kinds of toys, and enjoys her walks out and about. Cally loves her food and has already had some basic training - sit, paw, lie and drop.

Cally would be able to live with children age 8 years and over if they are use to big dogs. She could possibly live with another dog depending on how they get on at the centre. In her new home Cally can be left up to 4 hours maximum.

Location: Bromsgrove
Contact: For more information about the homeless pets at Blue Cross animal adoption centres visit www.bluecross.org.uk.

McIvorMcIvor
Jack Russell terrier
Age: 7-10
Gender: Male

McIvor is a typical Jack Russell. Once he knows you, he is affectionate and loyal but he can act the grumpy old man when his peace is disturbed. He’s looking for a quiet life and will be a wonderful companion to whomever provides him with this. He can be intolerant of other dogs if they bother him so would be happier living in an area without a high population of dogs. He enjoys his walks but is quite happy if these are sedate affairs, even a walk round the block will satisfy this little fellow.

Location: Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, London
Contact: Please apply online or call 020 7627 7884 if you are interested in McIvor or email behaviourrehoming@dogshome.org, quoting reference 07/05695.

HeidiHeidi
Black & white cat
Age: 7-10
Gender: Female

Heidi is a quiet cat, somewhat reserved and always more likely to be snoozing at the back of her pen rather than jigging up and down saying, "Here I am!" whenever people are looking round the cattery. She doesn't ask for much at all really; shelter, love, warmth and a garden or even a safe roof terrace where she can do her summer snoozing.

This undemanding girl is looking for a person with a similar character to her own (opposites don't necessarily attract in the world of Human Feline relationships). She would be more than happy to do her own thing while her person is out at work but will be glad to see you when you get home.

Location: Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, London
Contact: If you are an experienced cat person who could provide Heidi with the calm home that she would thrive in, please come in to register at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, London or leave a message for Ros on 020 7627 9234 or email r.davies@dogshome.org, quoting 08/90123.

Jasper ArthurJasper & Arthur
Black & white and tabby cats
Age: 3
Gender: Male

Jasper and Arthur are looking for a new home. They are brothers and the best of friends so will need to find that special home together. They will suit a quiet home environment with no young children.

Location: Wootton Bassett
Contact: If you can offer Jasper and Arthur a new home please contact Cats Protection’s Wootton Bassett Branch on 07917 862514.

OscarOscar
Black cat
Age: 10
Gender: Male

Meet Oscar, a lovable feline who has been waiting for a new home for some time now. He is currently in the care of Cats Protection’s Lea Valley Branch where he is one of the longest staying residents.

Oscar has been overlooked for younger cats and kittens even though he has lots to offer. He is very friendly and enjoys being stroked and fussed; he is also missing a cosy lap to curl up on. He enjoys human company and although he may be a little on the scruffy side, Oscar is extremely affectionate and will make a loving companion.

He does have some special medical requirements relating to his hyperthyroidism but he copes well with this and remains a happy cat. Oscar would be best suited to a quiet house with no young children.

Location: Lea Valley
Contact: If you would like to give Oscar the second chance he deserves, please contact Cats Protection’s Lea Valley Branch on 0870 2427336.
