Can Interfaith Marriage Work?
Regular readers of our Ask Andy column will know that until now, questions
generally come from so-called 'silver-surfers'. However, this week's question is
from a younger reader who needs the voice of experience to help him solve a
sticky problem. Can YOU help?
Adboy writes
My girlfriend and I are young and both very much in love. Recently, we have been
discussing marriage and kids. The problem is that I'm Christian and she's
Muslim. I was hoping you might be able to give me some advice on how we could be
married but each retain our own religions and beliefs. But then, I got to
thinking about the children. If we had children, what would their religion be? I
know there are people around the world who have married people of different
faiths and I would really appreciate someone who has first-hand experience
stepping forward and giving me some advice?
