Discover the family history sources available at the Shropshire Archives.
To help people discover their Shropshire roots, Shropshire County Council’s Shropshire Archives is launching a new, revised edition of its popular, Family History Guide: an A-Z guide to sources at Shropshire Archives.
‘The Family History Guide’ is a uniquely valuable tool for family history and local history. It is a comprehensive guide to the wide range of sources available at Shropshire Archives and contains over 50 entries, from Apprenticeship records to Electoral registers, from Poor Law documents to Quarter Sessions, Tithe surveys to Window Tax records. It is now available priced £3.50, plus 50p postage and packing.
This publication follows hot on the heels of the release of Shropshire Archives’ ‘A Guide to the Old Poor Law’ (available for £2.50, plus 50p p&p), which is also available from the Shropshire Archives.
At Shropshire Archives trained, expert staff are on hand to help visitors unlock their past and offer introductory tours every Thursday morning. For details of the tours, to book free access to Ancestry.co.uk, or to obtain general information about Shropshire Archives telephone 01743 255350, email archives@shropshire-cc.gov.uk or visit www.shropshirearchives.co.uk.
