New Series: Ice Road Truckers
Only on The History Channel and The History Channel HD.
Last season our truckers faced the Canadian tundra in sub-zero temperatures, over ice roads and lakes hauling vital supplies to remote villages and work camps hundreds of miles away.
This season, truckers - old and new - are faced with more miles on the ice roads, larger workloads and heavier trucks, making as much as $5,000 a load.

Venturing 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle, the truckers drive headlong into chilling danger across unknown river and ocean ice roads, with more hazards and constraints than the lake roads they are well accustomed to.
As the season comes to a close warming temperatures cause overflows over the ice roads and water rushes through cracks in the ice. As the world crumbles around them, this doesn't seem to stop the die-hard truckers who continue to push for every last load.
Get up-close and personal to the real men who undertake this dangerous profession and get an insight into the families they leave behind.
It's a job only few would dare to do.
All new Ice Road Truckers, all new danger - Thursdays from 9th October 2008 at 9pm.
