We want the Owl brand to be a trusted friend as people negotiate later life. A brand synonymous with relevant and engaging information. A brand which will help them find the answers to life’s questions and to reach important decisions.
Our founders have created an online community of websites, each with a different content strategy, to offer something for everyone. Our site visitors can be as passive or active as they wish. They can mix with like-minded people, or they can keep themselves to themselves. They can post their own vociferous opinions, or they can keep their counsel and silently agree or disagree with those of others.
Most of all, they feel they belong to something. Owl offers them empathy and understanding as they grow older and wiser.
Our management team
Chairman – Sir Alan Greengross has a vast experience of public and private sector leadership. He is a former Leader of the Opposition on the Greater London Council, former Chairman of Inner London Health Authorities and London Regional Passengers Committee.
Sir Alan is currently a director of several companies, including South West Trains, where he is also Chairman of their Passengers Panel. He was knighted in 1986.
Managing Director – Marce Colucci has more than 25 years of B2B sales and marketing experience spanning both UK and international business development in IT and healthcare.
He has negotiated and closed multi-million pound deals in diverse international markets through innovative and creative pricing strategies. Focused and motivated to establish win-win relationships in well established and in emerging and developing markets through partnerships and joint ventures. Has spent the last 10 years developing partnership ventures in healthcare and health related IT solutions.
Director – Tony Page has spent his entire career in publishing, media, marketing, health and age related business sectors.
For the past 25 years he has concentrated on the 50+ market. For 16 of those years, he worked with Age Concern England, responsible for developing its social enterprise company, Age Concern Enterprises, to a peak of £300 million in sales and profits for the charity of £22.5 million.
Director – Baroness Sally Greengross is an independent member of the House of Lords, having been awarded a peerage in 2000. She is a former Director General of Age Concern England and is currently a member of a number of All-Party Parliamentary Groups.
Baroness Greengross is currently Chief Executive of the International Longevity Centre and President of the Pension Policy Institute among other senior level positions.
Finance director – Abi Akinpelu is a qualified accountant with over 15 years experience of operating at board-level.
Between 2003 and 2008, he was the Commercial Director for Age Concern Enterprises Limited, during which he worked with Tony Page.
Prior to Age Concern, he was a senior management consultant at Deloitte and Touche where he was responsible for setting strategic direction for businesses in both public and private sectors, and guiding them through transformations. Prior to Deloitte, Abi spent five years as a director in the NHS, and his earlier years as a financial controller at Rentokil Group.

Director of content – Gareth Hargreaves is an experienced journalist who spent 10 years in consumer/customer magazine publishing for the likes of IPC, Emap (Bauer), BBC Worldwide, VNU, Conde Nast and Redwood before moving into digital.
He has spent the past decade working in the online space in areas associated with life over 50, at Age Concern and more recently as editor of Yours.co.uk at Bauer Media.
In 2009 Gareth joined our team and has overseen the functional enhancement and development of Olderiswiser and 50connect.

Sales Manager – Catherine Dyson is a successful advertising sales manager, with a proven track record of achievement in the communication industry.
Originally from South Africa, she enjoyed a successful spell online at Yell Ltd before arriving at 50connect where she has applied considerable knowledge and enthusiasm to growing online sales.
