Age Discrimation Must End

townnnhall

Age Discrimination against older people is rife in British society and restricts their everyday lives. It is unjust, unfair and must end. Help the Aged has commissioned a report into Age Discrimination, major findings include:

  • Health: Upper age limits exist for vital services like heart bypass operations, kidney dialysis and breast cancer screening.
  • Social Care: Cost ceilings (upper limits on expenditure amounts) for older people are significantly lower than for younger users of social services commissioned care.
  • Employment: Ten percent of companies have no staff over the age of fifty. Ninety percent of older people believe that employers discriminate against them.
