Every year brings its own unique and unforgettable sporting moments. There were winners and losers, trials and tribulations, slices of genius, moments of magic and for some, days they’d wish to forget.
The year of 2008 may best be remembered for the negative memories of Britain sliding back towards a recession but if its flashes of spellbinding brilliance you’re after you’ve come to the right place.
The last 12 months have been a truly unforgettable one, with the Beijing Olympics standing out for bringing us some of the best sporting moments in recent history.
But there's been plenty more to remember, with Euro 2008 football, tennis at Wimbledon and golf's majors all living up to their billing in 2008.
