The deal, which will see Lloyds TSB Insurance advertising on www.50connect.co.uk until August 2005, strengthens the buoyant mood advertisers currently have in the future of the over 50s market, but also highlights a growing recognition that the older generation are fast becoming the largest users of financial services online.

The Lloyds TSB Insurance campaign, booked through Zed Media, will include multi-channel tenancy, banner and newsletter advertising for Lloyds TSB’s home insurance for a 12 month period on 50connect.co.uk and invites users to compare insurance quotes online, offering 15% off the best quote found.

“We believe that the campaign will prove extremely popular with our users,” comments 50connect.co.uk Sales Director and Lloyds TSB Insurance deal-broker, Julia Green. “Thanks to faster internet connections and better online services we are seeing high levels of over 50s moving away from traditional telephone quotations for insurance products to the internet.”

Between 2001 - 2003 Mori/MFS tracker data revealed a 150% rise in the number of over 50s using online banking services in the UK and the number has being steadily rising since.

As the over 50s' confidence and expertise in using the internet continues to grow, 50connect.co.uk believe that the over 50s personal finance market will become increasingly important to online advertisers.
