Choosing An OpticianPosted on: 05 November 2008 by Gareth Hargreaves
Specsavers offer eye tests for sight and health, as well as glasses and contact lenses.
At Specsavers Opticians, their number one priority is your healthy eyesight. That’s why when you book an eye test with them you can be sure you are getting an expert service.
They have dozens of ways of testing your eyes, allowing them to tailor your examination to your unique requirements.
As well as ensuring that your eyesight is accurate, your optician could be the first person to detect high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol. Specsavers' expert optometrists are trained to look out for signs of eye disease and other medical conditions.
Once they have examined your eyes, they will only recommend what is best for you.
Opticians recommend you should have an eye test at least every two years. If you do not need vision correction, Specsavers will retain your records and contact you to remind you when it is time for your next eye test.
If you do need glasses or contact lenses, their expert staff will advise you of the options available to you.
If you buy from them you are protected by the Specsavers customer promise: "We want you to be completely happy with your purchase at Specsavers Opticians. If you have any concerns within six months of the date of purchase, we will put it right - no quibble, no fuss."
They employ more qualified optometrists than any other optician in the UK - over 1700 in fact. According to the Association of British Dispensing Opticians they are also the largest employer of qualified dispensing opticians.
They now carry out over five million eye tests every year, and more than one in three glasses-wearers buy their glasses from them.
They've been voted the UK’s Most Trusted optician seven years in a row. The survey, conducted by Reader's Digest, shows that Specsavers received more than three times the number of votes of its nearest high street rivals. The public were asked to rate each company on quality, value and, importantly, its understanding of customer needs.
The trusted relationship between their stores and their customers is the basis for their success and is something they have always valued very highly.
Specsavers was founded by opticians, with the aim of providing affordable professional eyecare in every community, in partnership with local optical practitioners. It's a vision that remains at the heart of everything they do.
