Paris Debut For Green Audi S4Posted on: 26 September 2008 by Gareth Hargreaves
We have some of the first pictures of the new Audi S4 that will be unveiled next month.
With an all-new, more compact six cylinder TFSI engine that outperforms its V8 predecessor, the new S4 will at the same time bring about a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions and the potential for 29mgp-plus fuel economy.
The new S4 will make its debut in Paris at the start of October with a completely new 3.0-litre V6 engine that will use a compact supercharger and direct injection to deliver speeds of 0-62mph in just 5.1 seconds and a top speed of 155mph.
Perhaps more unexpectedly, the combination of supercharging and direct injection also works very much in favour of fuel economy and emissions.
The S4 will offer the potential to cover up to 29.1mpg – a 27% improvement over the V8-powererd S4 – while also emitting 225g of CO2 – 30% less than its predecessor.
The new six-speed manual S4 and S4 Avant will open for order in late November 2008 priced from approximately £36,000 and will reach their first UK customers in April 2009.
What are your first impessions of Audi’s new green S4? Would you consider buying a new Audi? Have you thought about buying a new green or even electrical car?
