The Beach Boys: An American Band, The Beach Boys - Nashville Sounds

Sky Arts offers a short season of programmes dedicated to the Beach Boys, concluding with two channel premieres on 14th November: The Beach Boys: An American Band was shot at the height of their Reagan-era resurgence - a colourful, upbeat film featuring priceless footage, which still manages to tackle the more tragic elements of the Beach Boys' saga. The Beach Boys: Nashville Sounds follows the making of Stars and Stripes, Vol. 1 in 1996, including rehearsals and backstage patter along with first class performances with some of country music's biggest stars: Willie Nelson, Rodney Crowell and Lorrie Morgan.

John Lennon - Live In New York

This Sky Arts premiere is the live recording that remained in the can until 1986 - a rare treat of passionate renditions, including underappreciated solo numbers, from Lennon at the top of his game.
