Sky Travel presents Memphis: The Blues Capital and Home of Rock and Roll.

If you're a fan of the blues, or prefer your music a little more rock and roll, then Memphis is the place to come and immerse yourself in the great all-American musical history that got the world 'all shook up'.

Elvis, the undisputed King of rock and roll, made his home here, and one place you should definitely take the time to visit is Graceland - Elvis' 14 acre estate. Here you can marvel the cars, clothes, record collection and mansion of the legend that put this Tennessee city on the map.

You Just Can't Help Falling In Love...With Memphis

Nashville Music City BluesSun Studios is also worth a call if you want the full Elvis experience. It's at these recording studios he graced the mics and laid down the tracks for his first hits.

But if blues is more your thing then you should take a wander down Beale Street where you'll find a wealth of bars playing live music come sunset - a great place to sit and unwind with a drink after a hard days exploring.

While music is the core of Memphis' appeal it also has a strong cultural significance highlighted in the National Civil Rights Museum. Constructed around the site where Martin Luther King was assassinated in 1968 the museum depicts the history of African-American civil rights.
