With crufts on TV, we thought it was only fair to shine a light on these equally special dogs looking for a loving home...

JulieName: Julie
Age: 3-6 months
Breed: American Bulldog
Reference: 11/20120

Julie is a loving and affectionate puppy with a very gentle nature. Sadly she is deaf so is looking for patient and understanding owners who can dedicate a lot of their time to her training. Julie would benefit hugely from living with another dog to help show her the way in life and set an example.

This lovely lady loves nothing more than having a cuddle and playing with her toys. She’s a bright girl who already knows sit and stay but she would love to learn some new tricks.

LeoName: Leo
Age: 11 years
Breed: Labrador Retriever
Reference: 11/380

Leo is beautiful older gentleman who dreams of finding a loving and stable home to enjoy the rest of his years.

This gorgeous boy is loved by many staff and volunteers at Battersea. But despite his advancing years, Leo is very affectionate and playful chap.

Leo adores people and makes friends with everyone he meets. However, he can be a bit of a grumpy old man when confronted by other male dogs and for this reason he should be the only canine in his new home.

SmokeyName: Smokey
Age: 1-2 years
Breed: Mongrel
Reference: 11/20058

Smokey is a sensitive soul who is looking for a quiet, stable environment, away from the city. He will need time to settle as he is quite a shy boy. As he gets familiar with his environment you will see that he is the loveliest, most affectionate dog anyone could wish for. He will need owners who have experience of training dogs, and who are around most of the time. Smokey dreams of an adult only home where he is the only pet in the house, and he’d love a garden to play in.

VinnieName: Vinnie
Age: 2 to 3 years old
Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier (cross)
Reference: 2010/00523

Vinnie is currently one of Battersea’s longest serving dogs and has been waiting for his dream home since February last year. This loveable fellow is looking for an active family to give him all the walks and cuddles he deserves.

Staff at Battersea describe Vinnie as “a people loving boy with the most charming nature”. He’ll bring his new owners lots of fun and laughter and will make a very rewarding companion. Vinnie has good motivations for training and is always eager to please his handler. He’s a bright boy and loves to learn new tricks so would like to find someone who can do some more training with him.

CruzName: Cruz
Age: 3-4 years
Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier (cross)
Reference: 11/20070

Cruz is a big, loving, affectionate boy who is quite typical of his breed in many ways. He is currently still holding a bit of extra Christmas weight so is looking for a family who can help him shed those extra few pounds!

Cruz is a playful and outgoing boy who loves all toys, he is very agile and his play is typically Staffie so will need new owners who understand the breed and who will be in control of play.

He loves his treats and is a bright boy who loves to learn new tricks. He is house trained and travels well in the car.

JosephName: Joseph
Age: 3-6 Months Old
Breed: Lurcher (cross)
Reference: 10/21355

Joseph is a gorgeous youngster who would live to find a country home. This happy and friendly pup has lots of energy and a real lust for life so will need owners who can take him on plenty of walks. He already knows the ‘sit’ command and is picking up new tricks very quickly. He can be excitable around other dogs when out and about so will need someone who can continue with his training and help keep him calm.

One of Joseph’s favourite past times is playing with toys, especially fluffy ones and will happily amuse himself when playing.

JustinName: Justin
Age: 1 to 2 years
Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier (cross)

Justin is a lovely boy who is looking for a permanent and loving home. He came to Battersea as a stray in March last year and dreams of finding a family to take him in. His ideal home is with patient and understanding owners who can help build his trust and confidence as sadly Justin hasn’t had the best start to life. However, he’s a gorgeous dog who needs someone who can help him shine.

Justin is an energetic pooch so will need equally active owners and possible a fellow dog in his new house who he can play with. Although Justin is friendly he would rather not live with young children as he needs a calm home.
