E-mail Photographs
Kodak has announced that they are to launch the Kodak Picture CD version 5.1, which features simpler and easier ways for consumers who prefer to use film to share their photographs via e-mail. The most significant new features include an improved e-mail address book that delivers greater ability to share pictures with many at the same time. In addition, consumers can now send multiple pictures within a single e-mail.
According to a recent consumer survey conducted by Kodak and ICR, an independent research company, only 20 percent of consumers strongly agreed that it is easy to send pictures via e-mail. Fifty-four percent indicated that sharing photographs via e-mail would be easier if less expensive technology were available. Of those surveyed, 68 percent have never sent pictures over the internet.
"The new Kodak Picture CD improves the quality of non digital photographs that are sent by e-mail because it offers them all the added benefits of digital imaging without changing the way that they have to take photographs. For example, with the new Picture CD, it is easier than ever to e-mail pictures to multiple people at the same time," said Eric Lent of Kodak's marketing department.
The new Kodak Picture CD provides a simple entry into
e-mailing pictures. It expands the benefits of film and makes
digital easier by offering consumers more choices for sharing. Below
we have listed some of the digital advantages that Kodak's picture
CD offers:
- Send favorite pictures as an e-mail attachment to family and
friends quickly and easily with the new address book.
- Combine a picture and text to create a Picture Postcard.
- Create a slide show that chronicles an event.
- Order additional Kodak prints & enlargements of favorite
pictures through Kodak Picture Center Online and have
them sent directly to family and friends or to your home.
- Make pictures even better through enhancement functions that
can remove red eye, crop a picture, apply a fun effect or add a
caption.
- Use an improved consumer interface complete with easy-to-understand command icons and pull-down menus.
