Clearer TV On Your PC

A new stick TV tuner with Antenna Diversity technology promises to improve digital reception.

Hauppauge Digital, world leaders in PC TV technology, has released the WinTV Nova-TD, a TV "stick" with Antenna Diversity technology to improve TV reception in marginal Freeview areas.

The technology allows two aerials to be connected to the two built-in tuners, combining the signals to boost reception. In stronger reception areas, the Diversity technology can allow reception on the move, such as in a car or on a train (max theoretical 100 mph).

When connected to two aerials with good reception, Hauppauge's Diversity stick can also operate as a twin tuner, allowing owners to watch one channel whilst recording another to hard dik. The Nova-TD Stick is supplied with two high gain indoor aerials.

Priced at £79.99 inc. VAT, and available immediately from online and high street retailers, the Nova-TD Stick is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Media Center Edition (MCE), and the new Windows Vista operating system.

The Home Premium and Ultimate versions of Windows Vista include Media Center, Microsoft's multimedia centre designed for armchair use. Owners of Windows Vista PCs will see the message "tuner not installed" if they do not have appropriate hardware: Hauppauge can fill this gap.

System Requirements are a PC with 1.7 GHz processor or faster, Microsoft Windows XP Home, Pro or Media Center Edition, with Service Pack 2, one free USB 2.0 port, a sound card and a CD-ROM drive for software installation.

Included in the package are a WinTV-NOVA-TD Diversity Stick, a USB 2.0 extension cable, two portable DVB-T antennas, an IR remote control transmitter and 2 batteries, software on CD-ROM and a Quick Installation Guide.

WinTV Product is available online and on the high street, from Amazon and other retailers, for further details visit www.hauppauge.co.uk.
