Welcome to the first technology article. This space will be used to preview new or upcoming technologies that are useful , interesting or empowering. The articles will not go into too much technical detail and only give an overview, I will provide links if you wish to read further on a topic.
This week i am delving into the world of RSS readers, supercharge your web browsing! If you dont know what an RSS feed is, lots of the top sites have them, BBC , CNN,Times and 50connect. They can usually be identified with these icons   .RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, they are basically XML files. This sounds a bit scary but you can use various RSS readers were you just copy and paste the rss feed link into it. The one i use is RRS reader .
What does RSS let you do ? It lets you get headlines delivered from a feed directly to your computer without even visiting the web page and then when you have found an article you are interested in, you can get more info from the site. This allows seeing lots of site content all from one place easily and only visiting site content of interest. It also allows keeping up to date real easy too, in rss reader the headlines popup when new ones are released, so you can see new headlines without distrubting what you are doing. Many people also use  RSS readers for reading Weblogs or Blogs.
To add a link in RSS reader all you need to do is right click the red icon, that reads rss or xml and copy shortcut. Then open up RSS reader and click add. The link is already in the clipboard so you dont need to paste it, then click next.  Here is 50connect's , try it now.
Below is a listings of RSS feeds that can be consumed.
