Tackle the winter blues without blowing the bank with these amazingly cheap deals in hostels around the world. From Scotland to South Africa there's a great deal to be had for all budgets, so why not rest and recuperate on a shoe string?
The Inn Dalwhinnie, Dalwhinnie, Scotland
This hostel is highly regarded as the coolest in the Highlands. Yes, this time of year it gets pretty chilly, but these cool customers also offer world cinema, the Dalwhinnie sessions and extreme sports. On top of that there’s the comfort of home cooked meals and a calming ambience miles away from the stress of daily life, literally, as this hideaway is nestled in the national park an hour away from Perth and Inverness.

Gyreum hostel, Sligo, Ireland
If you fancy giving the environment a detox then Gyreum hostel is for you as it was voted best ecological building of the year by the European Eco-label.
