Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside

The British Seaside

The British Seaside

Send us your old seaside snaps for a chance to win a digital camera.

'Oh I do like to be beside the seaside..'  This quintessential British music hall song, written in 1907 by John A. Glover-Kind, encapsulates all that once was on a trip to the Britsh seaside.

The promenades and piers with their brass bands, fresh cockles, fish 'n' chips wrapped in newspaper, Punch & Judy, shoreline donkey rides, and of course, those risque saucy post cards.

You can view the entries in the Great British Seaside Gallery - and a big thank you to those who have sent in their photos.  I am sure you will agree they look fantastic and are a lovely trip down memory lane.

The tragic fire at the historic Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare earlier this year is the reason we decided to launch the 50connect Great British Seaside Competition.
