Easter UK Breaks
Treat yourself or the family to a cracking good weekend away this Easter.
From bargain countryside elegance to chocolate and pudding indulgence or family fun, there's an Easter UK break to suit every taste.
Grab A Country House Bargain
De Vere Venues are a new alternative low-cost accommodation. Business event specialists during the week, these venues are now available for a weekend getaway, from £39 per room per night, based on 2 people sharing a double or twin room on a Friday or Saturday night. Venues include Victorian Cheadle House, close to Manchester and the city's shops, entertainment and vibrant night scene, or Sunningdale Park, set in over 65 acres of landscaped gardens and natural woodland, close to Ascot Racecourse.
From £69 per room per night you can choose locations such as Devonport House in London or Barony Castle near Edinburgh. Steeped in naval history and regimented grandeur, Devonport House is situated on the World Heritage site at Greenwich. It's within London's travel zone 2, outside the congestion charge zone, and makes an ideal base for the capital with its many theatres, restaurants, museums and attractions. Barony Castle is set in 25 idyllic acres of gardens and mature woodland, and offers magnificent views over the surrounding countryside.
There are other venues around the UK. The price includes brunch on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays, served until 12 noon. Children age 0-14 stay free when sharing an adult's room. A supplement applies for children taking brunch. Check out on Saturday is 12pm and up until 5pm on Sunday. Book by 21st March 2008 and stay by 29th April 2008.
Wrap Yourself Up In Chocolate
Enjoy all the 'feel good' benefits of chocolate without putting on a single extra calorie this Easter with a self-indulgent chocolate wrap spa treatment at Savill Court Hotel, Surrey. The Jacobean style mansion, set in 22 acres of parkland adjoining Windsor Great Park, is offering 75 minutes of relaxing chocolate bliss, plus use of the Savill Spa and dinner plus B&B from £125 per person per night for a weekend break during March based on two sharing - a chocolate wrap is £65 per person and dinner plus B&B is £120 for two sharing.
Cocoa induces the production of endorphins in the body which are capable of activating the natural process of fat elimination. The chocolate wrap releases 'happiness molecules', stimulates the senses, releases tension and produces a sense of well being. It might even help you loose some weight. But it's strictly no tasting as you lay smothered in the beautiful smelling chocolate!
Celebrate Easter On An Island
Celebrate Easter this year at The Grand Jersey, one of the island's oldest and finest hotels, from £205 per person. A 2 or 3 night break includes breakfast, dinner on both nights and afternoon tea on arrival. Relax, unwind and be pampered with two Albert Roux inspired restaurants, and a champagne lounge for you to indulge in. Entertainment will be provided on Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Sunday.
A 3 night stay costs from £285 per person and a 2 night stay costs from £205 per person. The offer is based on double occupancy - single person supplements are available.
Treat Yourself To A Sweet Break By The Lakes
Lake District Hotels are offering a choice of 2 or 3 night stays for their Easter breaks, on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. Prices range from £104 per person for two nights at the Kings Arms Hotel in Keswick through to £178 per person for two nights at both the Inn on the Lake Hotel on Lake Ullswater and the Lodore Falls Hotel on Lake Derwentwater.
Those who have eaten their fill of chocolate can still enjoy something sweet as the Lakeland Pudding Society celebrates the great British tradition of the homemade pudding, from Spotted Dick to Jam Roly Poly, at the Lodore Falls Hotel on the second Thursday of each month. The night includes pre-dinner drinks, a light 3-course dinner, wine and eight freshly prepared puddings, plus a glass of dessert wine for those who manage them all, followed by coffee.
Enjoy Family Fun, Sand & Sea
The Saunton Sands Hotel near Braunton has an Easter Programme, from Thursday 20th March to Tuesday 25th March 2008, including children's entertainment which includes a live band and disco, football and other sporty activities, a quiz and an Easter Egg Hunt.
As Easter is falling exceptionally early this year, in most cases outside the county school holidays, there's a special one-off tariff. 3 night packages arriving on Good Friday including room and breakfast cost from £273 per person. The children's tariff when sharing the room is free for under 2s, 60% off the adult rate for 2 - 8 year olds, and 40% off the adult rate for 9 - 12 year olds. If you prefer self-catering, 3 night packages arriving on Good Friday cost from £600 per apartment. You can extend your stay at the hotel or Saunton Apartments on either Thursday or Monday at half daily rates.
