Keep the Grandkids busy!Posted on: 19 November 2010 by Rhian Mainwaring
If you're looking after some excitable kids this weekend, here are some ways to keep them out of trouble...
Go to the cinema!
Yep, the latest Harry Potter instalment is out (The Deathly Hallows) - it's a certificate 12 though, so for the younger ones try Despicable Me in 3D.
Cineworld also do a kids morning on both Saturday and Sunday from 10am at selected sites. There's a selection of films and pre-show entertainment for only £1 a child.
Hit the Rinks
With Christmas around the corner there's ice rinks a plenty around the country. Remember to wear a good few pairs of socks, rental boots are NOT comfortable!
Pick from the Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park, London, the Life centre in Newcastle, East Princes Street in Edinburgh or Lincoln on Ice in, in well, Lincoln! There's plenty more around the country, click here for details.
If you wouldn't be caught skating unless hell froze over, why not try something a little more wholesome...
Make Christmas cards
Great fun for all the family, it will keep the kids amused for hours, not only that but they'll go home with a lovely pressie for Mum.
Get last years Christmas cards down from the attic, pick up card in all sizes and colours, PVA glue, glitter and stickers. Pop to your local haberdashery and buy ribbon, buttons, bells or whatever else takes your fancy. Head to hobbycraft for some inspiration.
Be sure to cover your dining table in newspaper then cut, stick and glitter away. Time will fly by and not just for the grandchildren, you may well find you have a hidden talent.
Let us know what you get up to when you're looking after the little ones!
