As a larger footed woman, I know that it can seem impossible to find fashionable shoes on the high street that don’t make your feet look bigger than what they are. I deplore you not to despair; I have searched the entire world (wide web) to search for shoes that cater for all feet sizes, not just to those that have small feet.

As a larger footed woman, I know that it can seem impossible to find fashionable shoes on the high street that don’t make your feet look bigger than what they are. I deplore you not to despair; I have searched the entire world (wide web) to search for shoes that cater for all feet sizes, not just to those that have small feet.

Historically, women have always had small feet. In some cultures, smaller feet have been coveted as an object of beauty. There appears to be a myth that women should have petite and narrow feet and that larger feet are masculine, but as today’s society has grown and developed, so have our feet.

It seems that many high street stores do not cater for womens large size shoes, despite the fact that women’s feet have increased in by a size and a half over the course of the last two decades. For many women, the excitement of buying new shoes is marred by the fashion world’s inability to keep up to date with the changing of our human trends.

Fear not, my larger footed females for you are not alone. There are many beautiful celebrities that have large feet and are unashamed because of it. Let’s be honest, there aren’t many of us that look like the beautiful Elle Macpherson, but at least we can match her in the foot department. Elle wades in at a rather large size 12 and she is one of the most feminine and attractive women in the world.

If Elle Macpherson can have large feet and still look the epitome of beauty in a gorgeous pair of heels, then so can you.

Thanks to Momo for this great imageThere are so many beautiful styles to choose from, regardless of your foot shape and size, that I couldn’t possibly list them all.

The most important factor to remember is that they must be comfortable. There is nothing more ungainly than seeing a woman wincing in pain, in a pair of shoes that simply don’t fit properly. Embrace your big feet and ensure that you wear the correct size shoe for you. You should feel like you are slipping on a pair of socks when you put on a new pair of shoes. Shoes, realistically, should be that comfortable.

Stilettos are a wardrobe staple. They can be worn with all outfits, making them the most practical and hardworking item in your wardrobe. The stiletto always looks sexy, whether you’re wearing them with jeans, dresses or skirts. What’s more, they can make your feet look smaller, simply because the height of the heel makes the foot look narrower. A pointed toe on a sexy stiletto can also shave a few inches off your feet too.

Dolly-Shoes and Ballet Pumps are a personal favourite of mine, simply because they are so comfortable to wear. The high street has so many cute styles available in a wonderful array of prints and adornments that it would be foolish not to invest in a few pairs. Fashionable shoes seem to come in all sorts of weird and wonderful at the moment, with many styles of shoe coming in leopard print, adorned with sequins, bows and charms. The fact that they are so stunning will lead people to be more concerned with asking, “where did you get those shoes from?!” rather than asking “your feet are how big?!.”

Kitten Heels are for the eternal glamour puss. Kitten heels come in many classic designs, such as sling back and peep toe, that you couldn’t possibly head into your nearest high street store without passing a chic pair of kitten heels. The wonderful thing about kitten heels is that they offer height as well as comfort, something that neither the stiletto or the dolly shoe can combine.

Regardless of your shoe size, you can still look gorgeous with the vast array of shoe styles available online or on the high street. Embrace your big feet and let your shoes do the talking!
