A complete guide of How To Recover Deleted Files From SD Card Easily.

There are many reasons for your files to be deleted from your SD card. It may be by accident or your card was corrupted. Whatever is the case, I will walk you through on how to recover your deleted files. There are many free software and apps that you can use to recover your files such as SD card Video recovery. The process of retrieving the delete files in the SD card is similar to recovering deleted files on your PC or any other digital storage device.

SD cards are very delicate and anything can temper with them, rendering your files unreadable. These fragile devices are used major on cameras and smartphones, mostly android supported. Whatever you have stored in them I can assume they are valuable files and therefore you will have the need to recover them if they get lost.

In this article, our focus is on recovering file types like photos, videos, audio, and documents. The first thing you don’t want to do when your files are deleted from your SD card is trying to format it. This will render the whole recovery process futile and you risk losing everything completely. Instead look for a card reader and insert it to your computer. Note that sometimes card readers may not work and that doesn’t mean your SD card is faulted. You can also consider getting a USB SD card reader that accept both micro SD and standard SD cards.

Use file recovery software

You will find a lot of programs online that will help you recover your deleted files. Majority of these programs are free, others you will be required to pay before downloading.

Although these programs may have great online reviews, it is not guaranteed that you will recover all your files in the original format.

Before trying the free programs, read all the reviews to know the limitations. Much free software has limitations on the number of files or the volume of files they will retrieve. Another disadvantage of free programs is that without knowing, you may install some unwanted software, in some cases malware that will eat up your computer files. When installing a free program, avoid going for the ‘Recommended’ installation option.

Choose manual installation and read through each screen, avoiding search bars and other related software.

Before launching the recovery program, prepare your SD card for recovery by powering off the digital device and taking out the SD card, don’t unplug the SD card while the device is on. Check the SD card to ensure that it is not write-protected. Check the side if you can find a write protection switch and turn it off. Also, check for any physical damages. Insert the SD card into a card reader so that you can connect it to your PC or desktop. Sometimes the SD card will not read on the computer even though it reads on your digital device. If this is the case, try using the different USB port, or SD card reader, or another computer entirely. Try connecting your device to your PC using the USB cord and see if the memory card is detected by Windows. After doing all these tasks, now it is time to download the recovery software of your choice, free or paid. It won’t harm downloading two or more recovery software and try them all one after the other. Compare the results and choose the one that works best.

Using free recovery software

This is in most cases, the first option for many people. There are plenty of free programs that you can download online to recover your deleted files. It is advisable to go for free programs if you are trying to recover deleted files. But if your SD card is corrupt, or formatted, try the paid versions as they work best on more completed cases.

Because there are many free programs, I am going to explain how to recover your files using Eassos Recovery software. It is free and can also be used for SD card video recovery and also hard drive. This software can recover all the files with their original names and paths. The features of this program include; they recover deleted files, lost partitions while restoring the original volumes with files intact. It can also recover files from disk in the event that the SD card is damaged and cannot be seen on Windows.

Using Eassos Recovery Free software

Step 1 Launch the program and chose the recovery mode

You will notice there are four recovery modes available and each mode deals with different data loss issues. Some of the modes include “Recover Files From Partition” which works if you want to recover files from RAW SD card. In our case, the mode we are going to select is “Recover Delete Files”.

Step 2 Select the letter that is assigned to your SD card and click “Next” to initiate scanning.

Be careful not to select the wrong partition as this will bring unwanted results.

Step 3 Preview and choose the files you want to recover.

Select ‘Preview” to make sure it is the right file you want to restore. Next, click the “Recover” button.

Step 4 chose the location that you want the recovered file to be stored and click “OK” to save the files.

It is worth noting that the recovered files should not be saved back to the SD card, instead, choose a location in your computer and save the recovered files temporarily. Saving the recovered data back to the SD card will cause the file to overwrite and will mess up the recovery process.
