No matter how long you’ve been working for, when you’re applying for a new job, the idea of having an interview can leave you feeling slightly overwhelmed - especially if it’s for a new position altogether.

No matter how long you’ve been working for, when you’re applying for a new job, the idea of having an interview can leave you feeling slightly overwhelmed - especially if it’s for a new position altogether. An executive interview is known to be much more elaborate and distinctive as compared to a normal interview - which is generally why most individuals prefer taking executive interview coaching to help them ace the interview.

How is an executive interview different from the rest?

Since you’re applying for a position that’s above the rest, it’s only natural for an executive interview to be different. Gaining a better understanding of what’s different about an executive interview can help you prep for the session well in advance. You will be evaluated on:

  • What you can bring to the company - if you’re going to bring a change to the company, are you capable of implementing it, and how?
  • Do you hold the management skills that are required to run the company? Will you be leading in a way that makes you more of a team player or an authority figure?
  • How will you react to challenging situations? Will you panic? Or will you be able to bear the calm post the storm?
  • Being an executive is all about making decisions, i.e. making all the tough calls. Will you be able to keep a diplomatic mindset?
  • Running a team and making decisions isn’t all that’s attached to your role. If you’re going to be an executive, you need to be able to deliver the results that you commit to.

How do I prepare for the interview?

1.Begin with research

If you’re applying to be an executive in a company, it’s important to know all you can about their functionality. Not only will this help in boosting your confidence during the interview, but it will also allow the interviewers to know that you’re serious about the position you’re signing up for.

2.Use your sources - look over and study all the executive interview questions that you can find

We live in a time where technology holds all the answers in the world. Instead of spending all your time looking over Youtube videos, it’s time to sit down and do your research on the questions that you could be asked during your interview.

Eagerness is a virtue and if you’re able to simmer through your interview without a stutter in your voice, the interviewer will be able to trust your credibility and seriousness concerning the position you’re applying for.

3.You might be giving an online interview but it’s still important to dress your part

Due to the pandemic, most jobs have moved their locations to be remote. Needless to say, your interview will most likely be through the screen you’ll be working through. Even though you might believe that an online interview isn’t going to be as serious, if you fail to dress your part, it might show hints of disinterest to your interviewer.

If you’re going to be applying to be an executive, you need to dress up as one.

Want to know more? Try reaching out to an interview coach

There are several tiny details attached to a job interview. If you’re truly serious about the job you’re applying for, you might want to reach out to a professional. At Job Interviewology, you can receive easy online interview coaching to help you out during these troubling times.

The key to a successful job interview is confidence and knowledge. As long as you know you deserve the position you’re applying for, the interview will run smoothly. All the best!

During the lock down, its not easy to get a new job because all markets are closed, offices are closed and existing employees are instructed to work from home. I am a bookkeeper and offering freelancing bookkeeping services. My business is affect because of lock down but I suggest freelancing is best solution in this lock down.
