Ibiza isn't usually the first place you think of when you start to plan a relaxing summer holiday, however the White Island has a lot more to offer than first meets the eye.

There has never been a better time to visit Ibiza. From the sexy superclubs to the exquisite beaches and endless days of sunshine, the party capital of the world is in its element.

The island is multi faceted and has something to offer to visitors from all different walks of life. Whether you are on a shoestring budget or have cash to splash, there is so much to discover on this magical island.

Let’s begin with the beaches. With over 50 beaches to explore you will find secluded coves, sunset spots and some of the clearest and most inviting waters in Europe, if not the world. Our hot tip is to ditch the hotel and check out some of the gorgeous Ibiza Villas  offer that are only a stones throw from the beach.

Travel north and head to the hippy hangout Benirras Beach. This is undoubtedly one of the coolest spots on the island, where families and holidaymakers rub shoulders with celebrities and bohemian types. Each Sunday the beach comes alive with a tribe of bongo players and other musicians who come from all parts of the island for a tribal sunset ritual, joined by hundreds of people who flock here to witness the spectacular show.

Head south to Salinas, where the beautiful people swim, sunbathe and dance their cares away. Here are some of the best beach bars on the island, including the infamous San Trinxa, an Ibiza institution for many years. Also home to the Jockey Club and Malibu, you will find a place to suit all tastes and budget here.

It would be a crime to visit Ibiza and not take in one of the legendary sunsets. Perhaps the best known and most popular place to do so is the Sunset Strip in San Antonio. Hundreds of people gather here every night to sip a cocktail in one of the many bars that line the shore, and watch the sun sink into the water. A huge round of applause is quite usual when it makes its final dip into the sea! For an alternative sunset experience, head to Cap des Falco, close to the salt flats of Salinas. With spectacular views over the coast, this is a more elegant place to celebrate the end of another perfect Ibiza day.

If you want to indulge in some serious shopping then you are in the right place. Head to the hippy markets of Las Dalias (Saturdays) or Es Canar (Wednesdays) to browse the countless stalls selling everything from handmade leather goods to jewellery and a fabulous selection of clothing. Ibiza Town has an eclectic selection of boutiques and vintage stores for the more discerning shopper.

Foodies will not be disappointed in the extensive choice of world cuisines available for your delight. From the Pan Asian flavours of Bambuddah Grove to the traditional grills of Cas Pages, or the decadent menu at El Chringuito, Ibiza is a veritable treasure trove of exotic and exceptionally high quality dining options.

Of course, many people head to Ibiza with only one thing in mind - to party! And where better than the undisputed clubbing capital of the world? Whether you choose the down and dirty dancefloors of DC10 or the sophisticated vibes of Pacha, there is no better place on the planet to get your groove on. The cream of DJ talent from around the world line up to spin their tunes at Amnesia, Space and Privilege each summer, with the widest range of musical styles and emerging talent to be found.

Live music is also a big part of the Ibiza scene, with newcomers like Hard Rock Hotel and Ushuaia in Playa den Bossa playing host to some of the biggest names in the industry. 2014 will see the likes of Snoop Dogg, Robin Thicke and Lily Allen take to the stage. Ibiza Rocks, the pioneers of live music in Ibiza continue to impress with their stellar lineup.

The hottest destination for Summer 2014 can only be Ibiza.
