Tips to Minimize Body Odor Effectively

At some point or the other, almost everyone suffers from the issue of body odor. It is a humiliating problem for its sufferers, because it separates them from the rest of the crowd.

People just tend to cover up their nose or stay away from such people. In addition, people avoid telling them about the offensive odor as it might end up hurting them. This is the reason why this problem is not discussed openly.

Irrespective of the cause, these effective yet simple tips can definitely minimize body odor.

1. Spray Some Vinegar

Vinegar is a natural disinfectant that can prevent the growth of odor-causing microorganisms. Along with this, it can also reduce stress.

Spray some undiluted white or apple cider vinegar on the problem areas like feet or underarms. Hold on for a couple of minutes and then wipe it off. The other way is to add a cup of vinegar in your bath and soak for at least ten minutes.

In addition to this, drinking a glass of water mixed with two teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and honey, thrice a day can be highly effective. However, some individuals may not get the desirable benefits of vinegar. They may use lemon juice for body odor, which is the next tip.

2. Apply Lemon Juice

Bacteria can thrive on high pH. Lemon juice has antibacterial properties, which can decrease bacterial growth by reducing the pH level of skin.

All you need to do is apply lemon juice by rubbing a freshly cut lemon slice on clean and dry problem area and let it dry. If you dislike the acidic smell of lemon juice, you can rinse it after it dries up.

Lemon juice being highly acidic can irritate your skin. Therefore, you need to be cautious if your skin is delicate. However, you can use diluted lemon juice.

Remember, you should never use lemon juice on abraded skin as it can irritate your skin severely.

3. Use Turnip Juice

Turnip is rich in vitamin C and various other supplements. Also, it has properties that can reduce body odor.

Turnip juice can minimize body odor for at least 10 hours. For this, take one turnip, crush it, and make a paste out of it. Get its juice by pressing the paste on a sieve. Apply this juice onto the odor-causing areas, let it dry and you are ready for an odor-free day.

4. Rub Alum Stone

Apart from vinegar, lemon juice, and turnip juice you can also utilize alum stone. Alum is a mineral, which is rich in anti-bacterial properties.

It acts like an odorless deodorant. Therefore, it is beneficial for people who are allergic to scented perfumes.

Just rub an alum stone on your skin the same way you rub a roll-on deodorant. However, wash the stone if you have applied it on sweating skin.

You can also mix alum powder and baking soda in 2:1 ratio and add 225 ml rubbing alcohol to make a deodorant solution. You can store this solution in a spray bottle and use it whenever you need a deodorant.

5. Take a Wheat Grass Supplement

Wheat grass has chlorophyll, which acts as a natural deodorizer. Drink a glass of water mixed with wheat grass juice in the morning, on an empty stomach. Begin with small doses to avoid any allergic reaction.

6. Clean with Witch Hazel

Witch hazel is an herb that can kill odor-causing bacteria by lowering the pH of your skin. Apply witch hazel directly to your skin. You can also use a solution of witch hazel and water to clean your problem areas. This remedy is so effective that you may replace your deodorant with witch hazel.

7. Apply a Paste of Baking Soda and Lemon Juice

Baking soda can absorb sweat. Combining baking soda with lemon juice can make a fabulous paste, which can absorb sweat and eliminate bacteria. For effective remedy, add cornstarch to this paste.

Apply this paste onto the sweating problem areas, leave it for 5 to 10 minutes, and then rinse it with water.

8. Stop Using Synthetic Deodorants

Synthetic deodorants contain various harmful chemicals and heavy metals. These chemicals and metals enter body through skin-pores and damage health in the long run. Contradictory to this, organic deodorants are completely natural and beneficial for skin.

To your surprise, you can also make organic deodorant at home. You can get one of the best homemade organic deodorants by mixing 5 drops of sage, coriander and lavender essential oils, and 2 ounce of distilled witch hazel. To make other organic deodorants, search recipes for “homemade organic deodorant” on some websites and start fighting body odor with amazing organic fragrance.
