How gifts in Wills make a difference

Posted on: 04 March 2019 by Cancer Research UK

Gifts in Wills provide the essential support needed to conduct research and make a positive impact for people living with cancer.

strategy 2

Every gift received by Cancer Research UK helps bring forward the day when all cancers will be cured. Thanks in part to supporters pledging to leave a gift in their Will, the charity can research new drugs to treat cancer, discover what drives cancer to grow, explore new ways to detect cancer at an earlier stage - when it is more likely to be successfully treated - and so much more.

The people who pledge to leave a gift in their Will to Cancer Research UK believe in a future free from the fear of cancer.

Val, from Birmingham, highlights the enduring value of gifts pledged in Wills to Cancer Research UK:

"I began supporting Cancer Research UK in 1984 when my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was treated with a lumpectomy but sadly died in 1985. It was heartbreaking and still is to this day”, explained Val.

"I am passionate about finding cures for this horrible disease. I'd like to turn heart break into survival. I want the money from my lifetime to do something everlasting. "
