  • If bleached hair turns greenish, especially after swimming, put tomato ketchup all over hair and massage in, leave or 20 minutes.  Wash out thoroughly.

  • If you spot a grey hair just before you are going out, use mascara to cover the odd grey hair in dark hair.

  • To detangle hair pour over home made lemonade and then comb or brush through.

  • Hair spray - Quarter a piece of fruit (lemon for greasy, orange for dry hair), boil in 1 pint/570 ml of water until it has reduced to 1/2 pint/ 285 ml.  Cool and strain.  Keep in a spray bottle in the fridge.

  • A tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice in the last rinse is good for greasy hair.

  • If you apply a small amount of coconut oil, wheat-germ oil or petroleum jelly to hair ends this will prevent sun and salt water damage.

  • To revive permed or curly hair, spray with water using a plant spray and fluff up with your fingers or a wide toothed comb.  Ensure the plant spray has not been used for "feeding" plants.
