How I manage hypertension and diabetes thanks to Pharmacy2UPosted on: 12 November 2018 by 50connect Promotions
Brian Bilverstone explains why he finds the Pharmacy2U NHS repeat prescription service so useful in managing hypertension and diabetes.
"My life is quite busy, I'm self-employed as an embroiderer and as a photographer so I don't have a lot of time to think about my medications. In fact, I don't live with hypertension and diabetes they live with me. Therefore, it is important that my medications come to me so that I can control them and keep the levels low where they need to be so that I can carry on with my life.
"I've been an instructor with the sea cadet force since 1983, which takes up a great deal of my time and obviously when you're in charge of young people you don't want to suddenly fall ill so having the medication on time is absolutely vital.
"The best thing about Pharmacy2U as far as I'm concerned is that it is 'click and forget'. I make the order and I don't have to think about it. Two days later, it turns up - and that's that until next month.
"My usual routine is to order one lot of medication two weeks before it runs out; that might be on my mobile, which is very simple. I just log in to the app and click the medication button once and tap send and that's it. If I happen to be in the office at the time, I'll go onto the website and same again I'll select the medications I want; hit send and that's it done.

"Using Pharmacy2U's service means that I can rely on my medication being there at the right time. I don't have to think about whether it is the right dosage or whether it's the right drugs. They are always correct; they're always exactly what I need and they always get there before my previous prescription runs out. It is absolutely vital that I have as otherwise, I could be seriously ill.
"For someone like me with long-term conditions, it makes managing your condition a lot easier. You don't have to think about what your medication is going to be. Once the doctor has prescribed it, Pharmacy2U has it on record and that's the end of it as far as you're concerned."
