The Cult In ConcertPosted on: 09 January 2008 by Gareth Hargreaves
See the goth-rock and heavy metal band perform live.
The Cult are a band who have truly lived up to their name with their constant esotericism, existing just outside the mainstream since the 1980s, when the band was conceived as Death Cult by Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy.
Their loyal following has largely been to do with the marriage of goth-rock and heavy metal, combining emotion and spirituality with complex, unpredictable and driving guitar lines.
Based on the fiery partnership of vocalist Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy, The Cult were born out of the musical upheaval of the late 70s, and were among Britain's premier rock bands of the 80s.
This February and March fans have the chance to experience The Cult live, as they play several UK concerts.
